handpainted in Cape Town

The fabrics are mainly pure cotton single jersey, rib & cotton lycra, with some details in mesh, tulle & chiffon.

Elana’s design inspiration is drawn from our surroundings, in particular her special group of models - among which are her own daughters.  Thank heaven for little girls!  She thinks in colours… Her work reflects a free-spirited attitude and upholds timeless values, aesthetic qualities which are so rare in this technological age.  The 'butterfly' logo symbolizes the freedom attained through creativity as well as our commitment to using natural fibres and environment-friendly inks.
Artists hand-paint every single cloth, so unlike the rest of the industry, we work with large 'canvasses' as opposed to rolls of printed fabric.

This trademark handpainting aspect is labour-intensive, providing much needed employment in Cape Town.Besides its timeless artistic appeal, our customers like the comfortable styling in pure cotton, easy care & durability.
Most frequently asked question -‘‘Don’t the colours wash out?”  If the colours faded, so would the company... Our specialised inks are self-curing once completely dry.
